Explore connections in The Ties That Bind by David O’Mahony

Hello readers, the first title from Dread Recesses Press is live for Kindle pre-orders now ahead of its release on December 31. David O’Mahony’s first collection, The Ties That Bind, has more than 20 stories that mix quiet horror, science fiction, nostalgia, and dark fantasy in a selection that flows around the theme of connections – be they in this life, the next life, or with something in between.

Meanwhile, David is working on a range of other stories for various calls and has inked agreements for his work to appear in anthologies from Ireland’s Temple Dark Books and Britain’s Rogue Planet Press in 2025.

To the Dread Recesses of the human mind. We are interested mainly horror in all its forms with a touch of dark fantasy, but if it’s creepy or supernatural in any way then we consider it part of our canon.

Owned and operated out of Ireland by horror writer and newspaper designer David O’Mahony, we are currently closed to submissions but have exciting plans for the months and years ahead, with our first title due for release in 2024.

A note about the editor:

David O’Mahony is a veteran copy editor and author of more than 50 short stories, with his work appearing in the US, Canada, Australia, Thailand, India, and Belgium. He has written fiction and non-fiction, with a PhD in history that was highly praised by academics at home and abroad.
